Liberty Road Commercial Façade Improvement Grant Program
program overview
The Liberty Road Façade Improvement Grant Program is made possible by a generous award of $430,000 from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. This initiative is further supported by an additional $500,000 allocated in Fiscal Year 2025 budget by Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski for façade enhancements along Liberty Road.
Awarded grants may range from a minimum of $10,000 up to $50,000; GRCDO reserves the right to increase funding at its discretion for exceptional projects.
Qualification Criteria
- To qualify for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a property owner or business tenant (with property owner’s consent)
- The property must be located within the approved program area
- Proposed improvements must comply with Baltimore County Zoning regulations
- Projects must adhere to Liberty Road Design Guidelines
- Please note that additional criteria may be introduced as the program evolves, and all applicants will be informed of any such updates
Eligible Design Improvements
- Examples of eligible design improvements include, but are not limited to the following:
- Exterior doors, windows, and masonry work (including brick repointing and stucco repair)
- Storefront lighting, building signage, and pylon-style signs
